Welcome to La Faula
La Faula – Not Just a Place
Here we will not talk about the farmhouse, but about the soul that created it.
We will talk about the history, the deep roots that gave life to La Faula.
A story made of centuries, of generations who with love, sacrifice, and dedication handed down not just a place, but a way of life.
Difficult times were not lacking.
The climate, often harsh and unpredictable, tested those who worked this land.
Yet every step, every gesture, every seed planted helped build what we breathe today.
Every photo you will see, every word you will read, is like a gust of wind carrying with it the scent of the past, the toil of the fields, the distant voices of those who never gave up.
The Succession of Generations at La Faula
The history of La Faula is marked by a succession of different generations who have alternated in its care and management.
- In the early 1900s, the estate was owned by the noble Counts of Angoris, with important ties and properties also in Rome, symbolizing prestige and influence.
- Over the years, the land was cultivated by sharecropping families like the Nicoletti and the Marano, who lived and worked the estate under often difficult conditions.
- From the 1930s until the late 1950s, the Basso family led a significant agricultural transformation, carrying on traditions and typical productions while facing important historical and social events.
- Later, other families managed the estate until the Colautti family definitively purchased it in 1967, marking the beginning of a new chapter, rooted in history but oriented towards the future.
The agricultural estate was part of an economic and social system based on sharecropping, where sharecroppers cultivated the land and paid rent to the Counts with a share of the harvest.
The history of the property is intertwined with the sharecropping families (Nicoletti, Marano, Basso) who lived and worked it for decades.
The Counts of Angoris thus represent one of the noble landowning families that influenced the agricultural and social life of the area around La Faula.
